A cocktail perfect for a nightcap, with hints of spice, orange, and caramel. It’s best enjoyed in warm settings with maybe a cigar in hand. I had a little fun with this cocktail and changed the glass as well as got creative with the garnish.



1 1/2 ounce brandy

1/2 ounce orange curacao

1 teaspoon Demerara sugar

1 teaspoon Angostura bitters

1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice

Orange peel for garnish

Add sugar to a mixing glass and top with bitter and lemon juice. Store to dissolve. Add spirits. Stir ingredients with ice and strain into a rocks glass over the surface of the cocktail to express the oil. Then run the peel around the rim of the glass and drop it into the drink.
